Parents-To-Be

Let's start with some background information for everyone. My name is Heather. I have been married to my wonderful husband for four years now. My husband was formly a firefighter but left that job after our twins were born. Also about that time our youth pastor at our church was moving into the role as senior pastor. Cody was asked if he would like to be our new youth pastor and of course he agreed. I am a stay-at-home-mommy to our children. We have nine beautiful children who we love very much and thank God each day for. The four oldest one are not our biological children, Cody's aunt and uncle were killed in a wreck two years ago in August, before their death they asked us if anything was to happen to them if we would take the children in and love them just like they would, well of course we agreed not knowing this would happen so soon. The other five are our biological children. I will give you a run down of who everyone is starting with the oldest. Jake, Natalye, Chase, Jillian, Hannah, Benjamin, David, Avery and Emily. Hannah and Benjamin and Avery and Emily are our twins, yes that is right we have two sets of twins. All of our children are very close in age and we love it that way. We live on our family farm with my parents and younger siblings, my sister and her family and my grandmother. That is my life in a nutshell.

So what is the blog for you may ask. I am blog about our most recent pregnancy journey. Cody and I were asked my some very close friends if we would be willing to carry a child for them, since they are unable to have children. This family has been trying for several years and many miscarriage later they still have no children. We told them that we would pray about it and let them know at the end of the week. I would have said yes right then and there but wanted to talk to Cody about it first. I just prayed we had made the right choice. Well Saturday rolls around and we invite them over for supper. I was feeling every emotion possible that day. Six o'clock comes and the doorbell rings, I knew just who it was. All the kids run to the door to greet Aunt Amy and Uncle Adam with hugs and kisses. We all sat down to eat supper, which I could not eat much of because of all the butterflies in my stomach. Finally the time has arrived to tell them our decision. After Cody and I made our choice I wanted a special way to share the news with them so I went to pick my sister's brain to see what she could think of. So I used her idea of how to tell them. I had made them a gift basket that had two bibs in it that said "I love my mommy" and "I love my daddy". I had also made them a special card which said " Over the past several years we have shared in your joy and pain, tears and smiles, laughter and sorrow but on this day we would like to share with you both the joy of having a bundle of joy in the house."

So here we are ten weeks pregnant with baby bean. I will blog every week or so of new things happening with the pregnancy, how I am feeling, all that good jazz. This blog is also to keep family members of baby bean how s/he is doing and how big s/he is growing. I will also be post u/s pictures, belly pictures and all that good stuff at Amy's request for their families. All in all I am very excited to be carrying this precious baby for them.
